Apeks Supercritical has been designing and manufacturing botanical oil extraction systems that utilize subcritical and/or supercritical CO2 as a solvent since 2001. Systems range in size from our smallest 1 liter benchtop system to our 40 liter production system and are fully automated for lights out operation. We are veteran owned, have 4 degreed engineers on staff and all of our systems are proudly built in Johnstown, Ohio with as many American made parts and components as possible. We have more than 300 systems being used in extraction applications across the US with more systems being added daily
All of our Supercritical Fluid Extraction SFE systems use our patent pending Valveless Expansion Technology VET this means there are no constrictions or regulating valves to cause clogging in the system between the extraction vessel and the CO2 expansion separator. Flow of liquid CO2 and dissolved oil travels unobstructed from the extraction vessel into the separator, and the oil is separated from the CO2 where it should be separated in the separator/collection vessel. Unobstructed flow means no clogs that require system shutdown and depressurization, no loss of product in the flow lines due to premature expansion prior to the separator/oil collection vessel, and no cleaning of valve internals. This feature is exclusively available on our systems competitive systems typically use a regulator or a back pressure regulator to control the expansion of the CO2 and separate the oils. These valves have small passages and machined details that can collect oils

Here are a few things that differentiate us from the competition:Engineering design all of our systems are designed and built according to the ASME boiler and pressure vessel code this means there is at least a 4X safety factor in all of the materials. All of our systems have been accepted by the Washington State Liquor Control Board, the Colorado MED and the Denver Fire Department with more in process and to come. Nearly of our staff have engineering degrees Metallurgical, Welding, and MechanicalFully automated electronic control system full automation means consistent operation without operator supervision as well as shorter learning times. Full automation also means more consistency the same results regardless of who the operator is. 2 levels of safety protection in addition to the functions above, the control system will monitor pressures and will respond accordingly if there is a high pressure
