Alaskas licensed cannabis shops will soon be safe havens for anyone looking for a place to smoke a joint, blunt, or bong. Lt. Gov. Kevin Meyer approved a set of regulations on Tuesday to let marijuana dispensaries apply for licenses to allow on-site consumption, according to the Associated Press. Dispensary owners can register for a special onsite use endorsement beginning April 11. Businesses will be required to adhere to a certain set of guidelines before gaining approval of the Marijuana Control Board, including factors such as proper security and ventilation. Vendors....

Native American tribes that choose to legalize marijuana would be protected from federal intervention under a bill introduced by Rep. Don Young R-AK on Thursday. The Tribal Marijuana Sovereignty Act stipulates that the federal government cant withhold funds or render Indian tribes ineligible for benefits, contracts or grants simply because they end their own prohibitions on the possession, cultivation or sale of cannabis.
