First Saliva Screening Roadside Test for Cannabis Approved in Canada
The quest for a cannabis breathalyzer to keep stoned drivers off the road is still meandering down its own long road with little to show for its journey. In early in August 2018, a California company, Hound Labs, claimed it has made a major breakthrough with its a disposable cartridge breathalyzer that would show indicator bars when it detected any THC on the persons breath and could accurately detect whether a person had smoked weed within the last two hours. The parent company of Corona beer and other alcoholic drinks is expanding its partnership with a Canadian pot producer, betting on the continued growth in the medical and recreational cannabis markets. Constellation Brands Inc. said Wednesday its buying 104.5 million shares worth $4 billion in Canopy Growth Corp., boosting its stake in the company to 38 percent after its existing warrants are exercised. Ontarios new retail framework for recreational cannabis will start with online-only sales when legalization takes effect Oct. 17, with a network of privately owned stores expected to be in place by April 1. The new retail plan, first reported by Marijuana Business Daily, is a complete overhaul of the previous governments commitment to opening only a small number of publicly owned stores.  Molson Coors bets on growing cannabis industry with Canadian joint venture

Molson Coors Brewing Co. is teaming up with a cannabis company in Canada as beer companies look to fend off competition from North Americas growing marijuana market. Molson said Wednesday it will form a joint venture with Quebec-based licensed producer The Hydropothecary Corp. to develop nonalcoholic, cannabis-infused beverages for the Canadian market following legalization.
